On the morning of August 22, the People’s Council of Quảng Ngãi province convened its 3rd session (specialized session) of the 13th tenure (2021–2026).
Chairpersons of the session
The meeting was co-chaired by Nguyễn Đức Tuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, together with Vice Chairpersons Nguyễn Cao Phúc, Nguyễn Thế Hải, and Nghe Minh Hồng.
During the session, the Provincial People’s Council reviewed and adopted 16 resolutions on key issues such as land-use certification fees, policies encouraging the use of cremation, the authority to approve budget estimates and asset procurement, and adjustments to medium-term public investment plans.
Deputies also approved staffing levels for 2025, with 2,386 civil servant positions at the provincial level and 5,618 positions at the commune level, as well as 36,326 public employees on the state payroll in provincial and local public service units.
The Council also passed resolutions on socio-economic development targets for 2025, covering 24 indicators in the fields of economy, culture–society, natural resources–environment, and national defense–security.
Economic indicators include GRDP growth of 10 per cent, per capita GRDP of about US$ 3,950, urbanization rate of 20 per cent, budget revenue collection reaching the targets assigned by the central government, labor training rate of 63.97 per cent, health insurance coverage of 95.17 per cent, and poverty reduction of 2.41 per cent.

Closing the session, Nguyễn Đức Tuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, emphasized the need for strong, timely, and coordinated measures to achieve GRDP growth of 8.8 per cent in the second half of 2025 and 10 per cent for the year, in line with the Party Central Committee’s and the Politburo’s directives.
He stressed the importance of accelerating investment disbursement, fostering innovation, digital transformation, high-quality human resources, and leveraging international integration to create new growth drivers for the province.
A Vượng appointed Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Provincial People’s Council for the 2021–2026 tenure
At the session, the Provincial People’s Council also announced the National Assembly Standing Committee’s Resolution appointing A Vượng to hold the position of Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the Provincial People’s Council for the 2021–2026 tenureto repalce Rơ Chăm Long, who retired at his own request.
