On September 9, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, chaired a working session with the Provincial Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board to review performance over the first eight months of 2025 and set out key tasks for the remainder of the year.
Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, along with leaders of relevant departments and localities, also attended the meeting.
The Project Management Board reported notable progress, including full land clearance for the Quảng Ngãi – Hoài Nhơn section of the North-South Expressway, and completion of three projects: Phước Lộc Bridge (Trà Khúc 3 Bridge), Bến Đình Port Breakwater in Lý Sơn, and Liên Hiệp I Resettlement Area (expansion).
Progress of several other major projects, such as the downstream Trà Khúc river dam, Trà Khúc riverbank embankments, Hố Sâu reservoir, and coastal erosion prevention works, is being accelerated.
However, delays in site clearance and low disbursement rates of public investment capital remain challenges.
Chairman Giang acknowledged the Board’s efforts; however, he urged stronger coordination with departments and local authorities, faster resolution of land compensation issues, and concrete measures to speed up disbursement.
He emphasized prioritizing key projects, ensuring quality and safety, while also improving internal management, staff allocation, and organizational efficiency.
The Chairman called on all relevant agencies to provide timely support to remove obstacles, stressing the need for the highest responsibility from the Provincial Land Fund Development Center and local governments in completing land clearance and handing over sites for construction.
