On January 9, Đỗ Tâm Hiển, Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a conference reviewing fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue activities in 2025 and outlining key tasks for 2026.
In 2025, state management and public awareness on fire safety were strengthened, with effective implementation of community-based models, including 881 Inter-household Fire Safety Groups and 534 Public Firefighting Points. Authorities handled violations and enhanced inspections, contributing to improved safety.
The province recorded 85 fires, causing one death and property losses of over VNĐ 16 billion, mainly due to electrical faults and negligence.
For 2026, Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển urged agencies and localities to reinforce leadership, intensify inspections at high-risk facilities, expand public awareness efforts, and promote innovative fire safety models.
The Provincial Police were tasked with advising on effective implementation and working toward reducing serious fires, in line with the “Four-on-the-spot” principle.
At the event, 19 exemplary establishments were commended for outstanding contributions to fire prevention and rescue work in 2025.
