On the morning of 15 January, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyễn Công Hoàng, conducted an on-site inspection of the implementation progress of two major infrastructure projects: the Trà Khúc River Downstream Weir Project and the Hoàng Sa – Dốc Sỏi Road Project.
According to the Provincial Traffic Works Construction Investment Project Management Board, the Trà Khúc River downstream weir project was approved in 2018 with a total investment of over VNĐ 1.49 trillion.
So far, more than 98 per cent of the site clearance has been completed, and the cumulative construction value has reached 93 per cent.
The project is expected to complete all traffic-related components and a technical opening to traffic will be conducted before January 30, 2026.
At the Hoàng Sa – Dốc Sỏi Road project site, the Management Board reported that compensation and site clearance for the main route have been approved for over 133 hectares, accounting for more than 77 per cent, while over 71 per cent of the site has been handed over.
Correspondingly, construction works have reached 30 per cent of the contract value.
With a total investment of VNĐ 3.5 trillion, the Hoàng Sa – Dốc Sỏi Road spans 26.88 km, starting from the Trì Bình – Dung Quất road and connecting to Hoàng Sa Road.
The route passes through several localities, including Bình Sơn, Vạn Tường, Đông Sơn, Thọ Phong, Tịnh Khê communes, and Trương Quang Trọng Ward.
The project includes the construction of 10 resettlement areas with more than 640 land lots, one cemetery relocation area, and the use of 25 additional lots in the expanded Liên Hiệp I resettlement area to support resettlement needs.
During the inspection, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Công Hoàng commended the efforts of investors, land development agencies, local authorities, relevant departments, and contractors in overcoming difficulties, accelerating site clearance, and maintaining construction progress.
Regarding remaining challenges, he urged all related units to focus resources and time on resolving outstanding issues to ensure projects stay on schedule.
