QUẢNG NGÃI — Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng chaired a meeting on October 22 to review and give feedback on the implementation of key transport projects managed by the provincial Transport Works Investment and Construction Project Management Unit.
The meeting was attended by leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and localities.
According to the Project Management Unit’s report, the key projects include: the subproject on compensation, support, and resettlement for the Quảng Ngãi–Hoài Nhơn section of the North–South Expressway, the Hoàng Sa–Dốc Sỏi road, the Dung Quất–Sa Huỳnh coastal road (Phase IIa, Component 1), the Dung Quất–Sa Huỳnh coastal road (Phase IIb), the bridge and road connecting the centers of Sơn Tịnh and Tư Nghĩa districts (Trà Khúc 3 Bridge), the road linking Thạch Bích Bridge to Tịnh Phong, the anti-erosion embankment combined with land development along the northern bank of the Trà Khúc River through Tịnh An and Tịnh Long communes, a similar embankment section through Tịnh Long and Tịnh Khê communes, the downstream weir on the Trà Khúc River, and Trà Khúc 1 Bridge.
As of now, the Trà Khúc 3 Bridge has been completed and put into use since August 19, 2025. The remaining nine projects include one national key project (the Quảng Ngãi–Hoài Nhơn Expressway subproject), one new project to commence in 2025 (Trà Khúc 1 Bridge), and seven ongoing projects.
Among these, three are expected to be completed within 2025 — the Trà Khúc downstream weir and the two anti-erosion embankment sections along the northern bank of the Trà Khúc River.
The Project Management Unit is coordinating with relevant agencies and localities to speed up implementation and put the projects into operation soon.
However, progress in compensation and site clearance remains slow, affecting construction and disbursement schedules.
Some localities have been delayed in verifying documents, hindering the appraisal and approval of subsequent compensation plans.
The determination of specific land prices in several areas also remains incomplete, further delaying progress.
Vice Chairman Nguyễn Công Hoàng acknowledged the efforts of the investor, departments, and localities in implementing key projects.
However, he emphasized that many challenges persist, particularly in compensation, site clearance, and coordination among agencies, affecting overall project progress.
He requested departments and localities to thoroughly review and take decisive actions to address bottlenecks in compensation and land clearance, ensuring timely land handover to contractors and on-schedule disbursement of public investment funds.
He also urged agencies to develop specific action plans with clear deadlines, assigned responsibilities, and progress milestones for each project.
For those expected to be completed in 2025, he called for focused resources and faster construction to ensure timely completion and maximize investment efficiency.
