Quảng Ngãi, June 18 - Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee, Trần Phước Hiền, chaired a meeting with relevant departments to discuss the issuance of an environmental permit for the Dung Quất LPG Storage and Filling Station.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the facility, operated by Southern Gas Trading JSC, is already in operation and subject to an environmental permit as stipulated in the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection.
The authority to issue the permit lies with the provincial government.
The investor’s application has been mostly completed, with assessments by relevant departments indicating that conditions are met for consideration.
Vice Chairman Hiền emphasized that the responsibility for granting the permit rests with the province.
He urged relevant departments to base their appraisals strictly on legal regulations and promptly submit recommendations so that the permit can be issued within June 2025.
The Dung Quất LPG facility, located in the Dung Quất Economic Zone’s eastern industrial park, has a capacity of approximately 6,200 tons of LPG per month.
The project received its environmental impact assessment approval in October 2009 and began operations in June 2010.
