Quảng Ngãi, June 19 - Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee, Võ Phiên, who also serves as Head of the Provincial Board of Representatives for the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), chaired the Q2/2025 regular meeting to review the implementation of social policy credit in the first half of the year and plans for Q3/2025.
In the first six months of the year, the Board closely followed directions from the central government and coordinated with departments, mass organizations, and local authorities to effectively implement credit programs.
Over VNĐ 6,201 billion in total capital was mobilized by June 15, 2025 — an increase of VNĐ 478.3 billion (up 8.36 per cent from 2024).
Loan disbursement reached VNĐ 1,326 billion, supporting 23,365 poor and policy households.
The credit programs focused on job creation, loans for poor and near-poor households, rural clean water and sanitation, production in disadvantaged areas, and student loans.
Total outstanding loans reached VNĐ 6,186 billion with over 106,000 active borrowers.
Bad debt remained low at 0.15 per cent.
Vice Chairman Võ Phiên praised the efforts of the Board and entrusted organizations, and called for prompt restructuring of the Board after administrative mergers, continued training, and acceleration of disbursement to meet policy beneficiaries’ needs.
He also urged stronger communication, transparent loan selection, and effective supervision of credit operations and fund transfers.
On this occasion, the VBSP Board presented certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding contributions to the bank’s operations in 2024 and during the 2020–2025 period.
