Quảng Ngãi, June 17 - Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, chaired a conference to review five years of implementing the Government’s Decree No. 03/2019/ND-CP dated September 5, 2019, on the coordination between the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security in performing tasks related to national security protection, ensuring public order and safety, combating crime, and fulfilling national defense duties.
The conference also summarized efforts in counter-terrorism, human rights protection, state secret protection, cybersecurity, and outlined directions for the upcoming period.
Over the past five years, the Provincial People’s Committee has focused on directing the Police, Military, and Border Guard forces to closely coordinate and effectively carry out tasks related to ensuring security, order, crime prevention, and national defense. These efforts have made significant contributions to maintaining stability in national security and defense.
The Police, Military, and Border Guard forces have effectively fulfilled their advisory roles to local Party Committees and authorities at all levels, while also coordinating closely in their assigned duties. These efforts have been closely linked with building a clean, strong, and united armed force.
In addition, the armed forces, along with provincial departments, agencies, mass organizations, and localities, have proactively participated in counter-terrorism, human rights protection, safeguarding state secrets, and ensuring cybersecurity.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang praised the achievements and high sense of responsibility demonstrated by the Police, Military, and Border Guard forces, as well as departments, agencies, mass organizations, and localities for their effective performance.
He emphasized their vital role in maintaining national security and defense, which supports the province’s socio-economic development and foreign affairs.
Chairman Giang called on the armed forces to uphold their tradition and fighting spirit, enhance coordination and unity, and maintain regular and long-term cooperation.
He urged all units to remain vigilant and actively implement professional tasks based on close coordination and synergy, while mobilizing the strength of the entire political system.
Key priorities include strengthening the province’s defensive posture under new conditions, ensuring absolute security and safety for the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025–2030 term, the election of People's Councils for the 2026–2030 term, and the 16th National Assembly, as well as promoting organizational restructuring, administrative unit consolidation, and streamlining the government apparatus.
Finally, he emphasized the continued need to raise awareness among officials, Party members, and the public regarding central and local policies on preventing and handling mass gatherings that disrupt public order, riots, and terrorism.
