QUẢNG NGÃI — The People’s Committee of Quảng Ngãi Province will soon begin construction of inter-level boarding schools in border communes, as part of the province’s efforts to ensure education access for students in disadvantaged areas and strengthen border security.
The plan was discussed at a meeting on October 14 chaired by Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
Chairman Giang stressed that building boarding schools in border communes is an urgent and politically important task, in line with the directives of the Politburo and the Government.
He called on all agencies and localities to show determination and overcome challenges to complete the project on schedule and with high quality.
Following field inspections, the Department of Education and Training (DOET) proposed that four communes — Dục Nông, Mô Rai, Sa Loong, and Ro Koi — be selected for investment in 2025, including two new schools and two upgraded facilities, with a total investment of over VNĐ 600 billion. Around VNĐ 117 billion will be allocated in 2025.
Chairman Giang requested local authorities to take the initiative in land clearance and administrative procedures, and emphasized that contractors must have the necessary experience and capacity to ensure construction quality, aesthetics, and safety for students.
He also directed agencies to hold regular briefings, promptly address difficulties, and coordinate closely to ensure the project meets both provincial and central government requirements.
