Quảng Ngãi reviews adjustments to two commercial projects in Nghĩa Lộ Ward

QUẢNG NGÃI — The People’s Committee of Quảng Ngãi Province held a meeting on October 14, chaired by Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, to consider proposals from investors of two commercial projects in Nghĩa Lộ Ward.

The projects include the Hùng Cường Commercial Centre and Social Housing Apartment Complex, invested by Hùng Cường GO Retail JSC, and the Commercial, Service and Leasing Centre, invested by Saigon Beer – Quảng Ngãi JSC.

For the Hùng Cường project, Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang emphasized that the province welcomes and encourages enterprises to invest in social housing projects; however, he noted that all investment procedures must strictly comply with legal regulations.

He assigned the Department of Construction to guide the investor in preparing necessary documents for provincial consideration, and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to advise on land-use extension procedures to facilitate investment activities under the current land-use plan.

Regarding the Commercial, Service and Leasing Centre project, Saigon Beer – Quảng Ngãi JSC proposed three adjustments — an extension of the project timeline, an increase in total investment capital, and an expansion of project scope.

The project, initially scheduled for completion in June 2025, now seeks a two-year extension, an increase in total investment from VNĐ 160 billion to VNĐ 288 billion, and additional facilities such as a wastewater treatment system and a fire prevention and fighting system.

Participants in the meeting agreed in principle with the proposed adjustments.

Chairman Giang assigned the Department of Finance to review the proposal in line with current regulations and submit it to the Provincial People’s Committee for decision-making within its authority.
