The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism held an incense offering ceremony at the Son My Relic Site to commemorate the 504 innocent civilians massacred by the U.S. Army on March 16, 1968.
Provincial officials, survivors, American veterans, and community members attended the event.
Despite the pain of the past, the people of Son My focus on rebuilding and promoting peace.
The Son My Relic Site now welcomes visitors to learn about the war's history and pay respects to the victims.
During the ceremony, participants observed a minute of silence and offered incense and flowers at the Son My monument.
