Standing Deputy PM Nguyen Hoa Binh: Speeding up the implementation of four expressway projects

Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, on March 12, chaired a meeting to resolve difficulties of four expressway projects: Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung reported on the implementation progress, difficulties and obstacles of the four expressway projects, including Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon, and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh.

These projects belong to the Eastern North - South expressway, invested by the Project Management Boards of the Ministry of Construction, with a total length of more than 231 km, and a total investment of more than 49.7 trillion VND.

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung reports on the project’s implementation status

The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway with 88km in length has a total investment of more than 20.4 trillion VND. The project, started on January 1, 2023,  was scheduled to be completed in September 2026 according to the contract. However, this project is expected to be completed by September 2025.

So far, 100 per cent of the project  site has been handed over to the contractors to complete 34/34 resettlement areas for more than 1,960 households.

The project implementation volume has reached more than 55 per cent of the contract value.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien said that the province will focus on resolving existing difficulties and problems, and will soon complete site clearance of the project by the end of March 2025.

In his direction at the meeting, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh urged contractors and construction units to accelerate construction work. They need to apply the "three shifts, four teams" to complete the project on schedule while ensuring quality standards.

Standing Deputy Prime Minister also asked to minimize disruptions to community life during the implementation of these projects.
