On the evening of March 12, at the province’s square, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the Quang Ngai province solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Ba To Uprising (March 11, 1945 - 2025) and the 50th Anniversary of Quang Ngai Liberation Day (March 24, 1975 - 2025) with the theme "Quang Ngai - Heroic Motherland".
Attending the ceremony were Politburo member, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; NA’s Vice Chairman, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong; NA’s Vice Chairman Vu Hong Thanh; President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang; Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh; Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San - Deputy Minister of National Defense; leaders of Central and local committees, ministries and localities.

Delivering a speech reviewing the glorious history of the Ba To Uprising, Provincial Party Secretary Bui Thi Quynh Van affirmed that, 80 years ago, on March 11, 1945, the Ba To Uprising was the first partial uprising in the whole country.
The Ba To Guerrilla Team became the Party's first revolutionary armed force in the South Central Coast and the predecessor of the Military Region 5 armed forces.

The Ba To guerrilla team was one of the revolutionary armed forces born in the pre-uprising period and became the core force of the revolutionary masses in Quang Ngai during the days of the general uprising in August 1945.
Many members of the Ba To Guerrilla Team later became talented officers and excellent generals of our army in the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans. In 2010, the Ba To Guerrilla Team was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the anti-French period by the State.
The victory of the Ba To Uprising was the victory of the creativity, determination to fight and win, and the leading of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee.

50 years ago, Quang Ngai was a poor province. The province has now changed with new vitality and strong development.
In 2024, the province’s economic scale reached 133 trillion VND, ranking 4th out of 14 provinces in the North Central and Central Coast regions and 24th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
The province’s GRDP per capita ranked 2nd out of 14 provinces in the North Central and Central Coast regions and 17th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
The state budget revenue ranked 2nd out of 14 provinces in the North Central and Central Coast regions and 12th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
New rural construction has achieved positive results. The people's material and spiritual lives have been improved.
The Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ngai are always proud of the daily changes of the homeland and country and the socio-economic achievements.

Speaking at the ceremony, NA’s Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that throughout history, our Party has led the Vietnamese revolution through many challenges and difficulties, achieving significant victories.
The NA’s Chairman stated that, the Ba To Uprising has become a brilliant milestone in the histroy, not only thedemonstration of patriotism, strong will and courage, but also the crystallization of the intelligence of the Quang Ngai people.
Quang Ngai is making efforts and determination to develop its socio-economy, national defense and security, build a strong political system, worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, NA’s Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated the great achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Ngai province over the past 50 years. These results affirm the role, will of self-reliance, leadership and management of the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Ngai province.
The NA’s Chairman requested the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Ngai province to well perform political tasks in the new period, continue to streamline the organizational apparatus, and build the Party and political system with the highest determination.
The NA’s Chairman believes that in the coming time, Quang Ngai province will continue to promote its heroic revolutionary tradition, innovation, dynamism, creativity and breakthroughs, striving to make Quang Ngai a fairly developed province by 2030 according to the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress.
At the ceremony, NA’s Chairman Tran Thanh Man awarded the First Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Ngai province. Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh awarded the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command.
