On March 12, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the State Audit Office of Region III to announce the decision and implement the local budget audit in 2024.
The objective of the audit is to confirm the authenticity and reasonableness of local financial and budget information, financial reports and settlement reports of audited units and to assess compliance with the law, feasibility, and efficiency in managing and using public finance and public assets of audited units and projects.
At the same time, the audit will recommend competent authorities to perfect inadequate mechanisms and policies, promptly detect violations, acts of corruption, waste, and negativity, and clearly identify the responsibilities of relevant collectives and individuals.
The content of the audit includes the management and use of local budgets in 2024, activities related to the management and use of public finance and public assets, investment programs and projects in construction, procurement, management and use of public assets, and related activities of audited agencies, organizations and individuals.
The audit period is 60 days from the date of announcement of the audit decision.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy State Auditor Doan Anh Tho requested the Quang Ngai PPC and relevant units to closely coordinate with the audit team, fully provide necessary documents and information, and create favorable conditions for the team to complete its tasks.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien affirmed that the province will direct departments, sectors, localities and related units to closely coordinate with the audit team and create favorable conditions for the team to complete its tasks.

Phien also suggested the audit team support the province in detecting and overcoming limitations and shortcomings, set out solutions to improve the efficiency of management and use of the budget, public finance and assets in the province.
