On March 23, at March 24 Square in La Ha Town, Tu Nghia, the Tu Nghia District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tu Nghia Liberation Day (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025).
The event was attended by Colonel Vo Van Ba, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Dang Ngoc Huy; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dinh Thi Hong Minh; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Cao Phuc; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the province over the periods; leaders of departments, sectors and localities; Heroic Vietnamese Mother Huynh Thi Bon; and leaders of Tu Nghia district over the periods.
Delegates from Nghi Loc and Hung Nguyen districts (Nghe An province), Go Cong district (Tien Giang province), Trang Bang town (Tay Ninh province), Kon Tum city (Kon Tum province), and a large number of cadres, soldiers and people in the district also attended the event.
At the celebration, Chairman of Tu Nghia District People’s Committee, Nguyen Dang Vinh, delivered a speech reviewing the district’s heroic, resilient, and indomitable fighting spirit and its development over the past 50 years.
After fifty years, Tu Nghia district has grown strongly. The average annual growth rate of product value is 9.1 per cent. The total product value by 2025 is estimated to reach 24.5 trillion VND.
So far, the whole district has had 11 out of 11 communes meeting new rural standards. La Ha town and Song Ve town have met urban standards of type 5.
Tu Nghia is the second district in the province to be recognized as a district meeting new rural standards in 2019.
The Party Committee, government and people of Tu Nghia district were honored to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, the First Class Labor Medal and many other noble awards from the Party and State in recognition of its achievements.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Dang Ngoc Huy acknowledged and commended the achievements achieved by the Party Committee, government and people of Tu Nghia district over the past 50 years.
He urged the district’s leaders to prioritize Party building, infrastructure development, and economic growth through digital and green transformation.
Additionally, he highlighted the need to enhance solidarity, overcome challenges, and ensure social security and national defense.
Huy also asked the district to focus on accelerating the progress of completing projects, disbursing public investment capital, promoting the district’s potential and advantages to attract investment, develop urban and service areas.
On this occasion, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Dang Ngoc Huy awarded the Second Class Labor Medal of the State President to Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tu Nghia District Nguyen Dang Vinh.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Chairman of the People's Council of Tu Nghia District Nguyen Tan Luc.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to the Party Committee, government and people of Tu Nghia district and three individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the process of building and developing Tu Nghia district. The Chaiman also awarded Certificates of Merit to two collectives and five individuals who have made achievements in implementing the emulation movement to promote administrative reform of Quang Ngai province in 2024.
