On March 29, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online meeting with localities to review inspection results and urged the implementation of a plan to complete 3,000 kilometers of expressways by the end of 2025.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Phuoc Hien, along with leaders from relevant agencies and localities, attended the meeting from the Quang Ngai bridge point.
Currently, the Ministry of Construction, localities, and the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) are working on 28 projects and component projects, aiming for completion in 2025, totaling approximately 1,188 kilometers.
To facilitate this process, the Prime Minister has established seven inspection teams led by Deputy Prime Ministers. These teams will conduct direct inspections to address and resolve difficulties and challenges related to the projects.
From March 6 to March 14, 2025, the inspection teams reviewed project sites, coordinated with localities, investors, and contractors, and assigned specific tasks to each agency to focus on overcoming obstacles and advancing the progress of each project.
Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that completing at least 3,000 kilometers of expressways by 2025 is a target established by the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. This goal is an important political task that requires acceleration and a significant breakthrough to achieve.
The Prime Minister urged localities to mobilize the entire political system to ensure timely site clearance and the flexible application of policies.
He also stressed the importance of guaranteeing the supply of raw materials for the projects.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister stated that projects which are completed ahead of schedule or on time should receive rewards in accordance with regulations, while agencies, units, and contractors that fail to meet deadlines should face appropriate sanctions.
