On April 15, in Kon Plong district (Kon Tum province), the Standing Committees of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee and Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee met to deploy contents related to the merger of provincial-level administrative units.
Attending the conference were Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Dang Ngoc Huy; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dinh Thi Hong Minh; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and leaders of departments and sectors.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee Bui Thi Quynh Van said that, Quang Ngai province has proactively prepared the contents, draft projects and plans relating to the restructuring and reorganization of administrative units.
According to the Central's roadmap, the project to merge and consolidate Kon Tum and Quang Ngai provinces must be completed and reported to the Central before May 1.

According to Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Kon Tum Provincial People's Council Duong Van Trang, the two provinces should soon agree on the time and method of exchange and coordination in implementing the provincial merger project.
At the conference, the Standing Committees of Quang Ngai and Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee discussed the establishment of working groups between the two provinces to carry out the contents and tasks assigned by the Central Government.
The two provinces also appointed officials to act as focal points for coordination between the two provinces to discuss and resolve related works.
Delegates at the conference gave opinions on the first draft of the Project and the Plan for implementing the provincial merger. At the same time, they agreed on the roadmap and contents of the work that the two provinces will settle from now until September 1, 2025.
