QUẢNG NGÃI — More than VNĐ1.3 billion in financial support was provided on December 5ᵗʰ to households in Tây Trà and Tây Trà Bồng communes whose houses were damaged by recent storms and floods.
The assistance was granted by the provincial Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee during a ceremony held in Tây Trà Commune.
Attending the event were Hồ Văn Niên, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee Lữ Ngọc Bình, Head of the Organisation Commission, and Trương Thị Linh, Head of the Internal Affairs Commission; Y Thị Bích Thọ, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the provincial Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyễn Công Hoàng, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and representatives of relevant departments and agencies.
Secretary Niên presented gifts and offered words of encouragement to 33 households whose homes were damaged in the prolonged heavy rains.
He urged local authorities to mobilise resources to expedite repair works and quickly prepare plans to rebuild collapsed houses and fix damaged ones.
Support for home repairs must be completed before December 31ˢᵗ, 2025, while newly built homes must be finished before January 31ˢᵗ, 2026, enabling families to celebrate Tết in safe and stable dwellings.
The Secretary and the working delegation also attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a new house for Hồ Thị Hương of Gò Rô Village, Tây Trà Commune, whose home collapsed due to a landslide.
Hương, an elderly ethnic minority war invalid, has been staying with relatives since the incident.
Niên presented her with a gift and encouraged the family to overcome difficulties and rebuild their lives.
Hương’s new house will cost approximately VNĐ100 million. Of this amount, the provincial Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee will contribute VNĐ60 million, the provincial Red Cross VNĐ10 million, and the Tây Trà Commune Fatherland Front Committee an estimated VNĐ20 million. The remaining funds will be covered by the family through loans or other means.
In this support round, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee allocated more than VNĐ1.3 billion to assist 20 households in Tây Trà Commune and 13 in Tây Trà Bồng Commune.
The aid includes VNĐ60 million each for 16 households whose homes were completely destroyed; VNĐ30 million each for nine households with 50–70 per cent damage; and VNĐ15 million each for eight households whose homes suffered 30–50 per cent damage.
