The working delegation from Quang Ngai province visited Son La province to exchange experiences on land management, crop conversion, and application of scientific and technical advances in developing fruit growing areas on sloping hills.
Son La province shared their successful models and experiences in developing fruit trees, emphasizing the importance of issuing supportive policies, selecting suitable fruit tree varieties, using science and technology to improve productivity and quality, meeting quality standards, protecting the environment, and expanding consumer markets.
The whole province has 31 agricultural products bearing the province's geographical name that have been granted protection titles.
Son La has also implemented market-oriented concentrated planting area planning, in accordance with the soil and climate conditions of each region.
Son La province has nine recognized high-tech agricultural areas. There are 560 factories and agricultural product processing establishments (including 17 factories and 543 establishments).
In 2024, the value of agricultural products participating in exports was estimated at 190 million USD.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien sincerely thanked the leaders of the Son La Provincial People's Committee and departments and units for supporting, sharing experiences and some fruit tree development models in the province.
The Vice Chairman said that in recent years, Quang Ngai province has had many programs and investment projects to develop agriculture and rural areas, prioritizing the development of fruit trees and has achieved certain results.
However, the development of fruit trees still faces many difficulties and challenges. It is not commensurate with the potential of the province.
Therefore, the outstanding results in the development of fruit trees in Son La province are the driving force and valuable experiences for Quang Ngai province to refer to, learn and apply in the coming time in accordance with the actual situation and conditions of the province. This will contribute positively to the development of agricultural economy, increasing income for rural people, especially in mountainous areas of the province.
On this occasion, the provincial delegation inspected and learned about a number of models and concentrated fruit tree production areas with high commodity value in Son La province.
