On May 11, in Quảng Ngãi City, the Standing Committees of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Committee and the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee held a conference to implement the Central Government's policy on the merger of provincial-level administrative units.
Attending the meeting from the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Committee were Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Đặng Ngọc Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee andChairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Đinh Thị Hồng Minh, members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and leaders of functional departments and sectors of the province.
For the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee, there were member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Dương Văn Trang, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, U Huấn, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Lê Ngọc Tuấn, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyễn Đức Tuy, members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and leaders of functional departments and sectors of the province.
The Standing Committees of the Party Committees of Quảng Ngãi and Kon Tum provinces discussed and offered opinions on the comprehensive plan for reorganizing commune-level personnel following the two-tier local government model.
The committees also reviewed and commented on the proposed number of delegates for the upcoming Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term.
Additionally, they gave opinions on the plan for arranging housing for officials, civil servants, and workers after the administrative restructuring of the two provinces, ensuring stable and convenient accommodation for officials while maximizing the use of existing infrastructure, avoiding waste of the state budget.
In discussions on the draft documents to be submitted to the upcoming Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term, the Standing Committees of the Party Committees of both provinces agreed on the contents of the draft political report that will be submitted to the upcoming Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Congress.
The political report must provide an honest, objective, and comprehensive assessment of the situation and outcomes of the implementation of the Resolutions of the Provincial Party Congresses for the 2020–2025 term.
It should particularly focus on key and breakthrough tasks in Party building and rectification, strengthening the political system, combating corruption, wastefulness, and negative phenomena, promoting socio-economic development, and ensuring national defense, security, and foreign affairs.
The report must identify strengths and weaknesses and draw profound lessons for leadership, direction, and implementation.
The report must also clearly define directions, goals, targets, tasks, and solutions for the upcoming term that are closely aligned with the current context and new requirements.

Speaking at the conference, Dương Văn Trang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Kon Tum province, emphasized that in the upcoming term, after the merger, the newly established Quảng Ngãi province would enjoy significant advantages, especially in the tourism sector.
After the merger, Quảng Ngãi is home to the growing Dung Quất Economic Zone, which should be considered a strategic strength of the province. Increasing occupancy rates, expanding its area, and focusing on industrial development will be key tasks in the next term.
For urban service development, it is necessary to focus on development alongthe two banks of the Trà Khúc River and at Mỹ Khê beach.
In the mountainous area, Quảng Ngãi province will focus on developing agriculture with long-term industrial crops and agricultural product processing.
Quảng Ngãi, after the merger, will possess significant strengths in developing medicinal herbs, particularly Ngọc Linh ginseng, and will expand the Ngọc Linh ginseng growing area to 6,000 hectares.
In the new term, Quảng Ngãi will set a target to attract investment in building deep processing factories, thereby increasing the value of Ngọc Linh ginseng, contributing to increasing income while reducing poverty in mountainous areas.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Council Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân emphasized that Quảng Ngãi will have an industrial foundation and an orientation for industrial development to become a fairly developed province.
The Quảng Ngãi province will also have many opportunities to develop services and tourism when bordering countries and developing along the East-West economic corridor axis.
Vân requested the Document Editorial Team to record opinions on promoting the advantages and potential of Quảng Ngãi Province in the development orientation for the period 2025-2030 and the following terms.
The province will develop an action program and concretize it with specialized resolutions to implement the goals and tasks in the coming term, Vân added.
