On April 25, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) Nguyễn Hoàng Giang chaired a meeting to listen to and provide feedback on the investment proposal for the Bình Thọ Industrial Cluster (IC) Infrastructure Development Project in Sơn Tịnh District.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of the PPC Trần Phước Hiền and leaders of relevant departments, sectors, and local authorities.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, Sơn Tịnh District currently has only one industrial cluster—Tịnh Bắc IC—covering approximately 30 hectares.
The project is managed by the Sơn Tịnh District Construction Investment and Land Development Project Management Board and mainly funded by the state budget.
However, due to limited financial resources, the technical infrastructure of Tịnh Bắc IC remains underdeveloped, falling short of meeting the land demands for industrial projects in the area.
The proposal to invest in Bình Thọ IC is considered essential to meet the land needs for production and business operations, facilitate the relocation of secondary projects from Tịnh Ấn Tây IC, and attract supporting enterprises for VSIP Industrial Park, Dung Quất Economic Zone, and inter-regional industrial clusters.
The project will also contribute to providing essential services and cultural facilities for workers in the area.
As proposed by the investor, Bình Thọ IC will span about 70 hectares across the communes of Tịnh Bình and Tịnh Thọ in Sơn Tịnh District.
Based on the investor’s proposal and the input from delegates at the meeting, Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang acknowledged and highly appreciated the initiative, noting that it aligns with the provincial and local development planning and goals.
To proceed with the next steps, the Chairman assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to lead and coordinate with relevant departments and localities to review the compatibility of the Bình Thọ IC project with approved plans, support the investor in developing the infrastructure investment proposal, and consolidate inputs for submission to the appropriate authorities.
The Chairman also tasked the Sơn Tịnh District People's Committee with leading the coordination effort to promptly conduct surveys and prepare the overall planning for the land layout, traffic system, electricity and water supply, and related infrastructure in accordance with regulations.
Furthermore, the Chairman requested that the investor closely coordinate with relevant departments and localities to promptly implement the necessary procedures and subsequent steps of the project.
