Quảng Ngãi holds a press conference on socio-economic development in the first quarter of 2025

On April 26, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Trần Hoàng Tuấn, chaired a press conference in the first quarter of 2025 to inform about the socio-economic situation in the first quarter and key directions and tasks in the second quarter of 2025.

According to the report of the Department of Finance, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the province in the first quarter of 2025 was estimated at VNĐ 14,030 billion, an increase of 8.07 per cent over the same period last year.

Industrial production activities recorded many positive signals, with most key products achieving good growth; the industrial production index in the first quarter increased by 12.17 per cent over the same period.

The average consumer price index (CPI) in the first quarter increased by 3.68 per cent over the same period.

Total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue were estimated at VNĐ 21,392.7 billion, up 10.3 per cent, reaching 26 per cent of the yearly plan.

The tourism sector also prospered, with the total number of visitors of 440 thousand, up 36 per cent; revenue reached nearly VNĐ 436 billion, up 40 per cent, and 23 per cent of the yearly plan.

Total state budget revenue in the first quarter was estimated at VNĐ 8,875 billion, up 2.3 per cent over the same period, reaching 27.8 per cent of the yearly estimate.

Total local budget expenditure was estimated at VNĐ 3,067 billion, up 19.4 per cent, reaching 16.4 per cent of the yearly plan.

Total social investment capital was estimated at VNĐ 12,759 billion, up 16.7 per cent, reaching 33.5 per cent of the annual plan.

Regarding public investment, the total capital plan for 2025 is more than VNĐ 5,329 billion. Up to March 31, 2025, the disbursement results reached about VNĐ 387 billion, equivalent to 7.3 per cent of the plan.

In the first quarter of 2025, one investment certificate was granted to one FDI project with a total registered capital of US$45 million. At the same time,investment policies were granted to two domestic projects with a total capital of more than VNĐ 444 billion.

There were 143 newly registered enterprises with a total capital of VNĐ 762.5 billion.

The socio-cultural sector continued to be stable. The province successfully organized major events such as the 80th Anniversary of Ba Tơ Uprising (March 11, 1945 - March 11, 2025) and the 50th Anniversary of Quảng Ngãi Province Liberation Day (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025).

Administrative reform,  rearrangement of the organizational apparatus, and digital transformation had been implemented drastically, ensuring progress according to the requirements of the Central Government. The political security situation and social order and safety had been ensured.

Quảng Ngãi province have identified a number of key tasks in the second quarter of 2025. In particular, the province need to promote the implementation of the Resolutions of the Government, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Plan of the Provincial People's Committee on socio-economic development tasks.

Concluding the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trần Hoàng Tuấn thanked journalists and reporters for regularly following the socio-economic  situation of the province in the past time.

Tuấn said that in the coming time, the province would focus on the rearrangement of administrative units at the provincial and grassroots levels. He suggested that the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission be the focal point for information, together with the Department of Home Affairs and relevant agencies, to proactively and actively provide complete and timely official information on the rearrangement of administrative units and the settlement of policies for cadres, civil servants and public employees.

Tuấn hoped that the press and media agencies would widely propagate policies and guidelines, as well as outstanding activities and events in the province, creating the highest consensus among the people. At the same time, they need to closely monitor, promptly reflect the socio-economic situation, and join hands in carrying out local political tasks.
