The Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quảng Ngãi Province on May 31 solemnly held a ceremony in Tịnh Sơn Commune, Sơn Tịnh District, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Ba Gia Victory (May 31, 1965 – May 31, 2025).

The event was attended by Senior Lieutenant General Trần Quang Phương, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Lieutenant Generals Thái Đại Ngọc and Trương Thiên Tô; Major General Lương Đình Chung; and many former and current military and provincial leaders.

In his keynote speech, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang reviewed the historic Ba Gia Campaign.

Launched in May 1965 by Military Region 5, the campaign lasted three days and led to the defeat of four enemy battalions, breaking a major counteroffensive and expanding liberated zones in Quảng Ngãi.

The victory was a strategic and tactical milestone, demonstrating the power of people's war and the coordination between main forces and local units, as well as the synergy between military action and civilian uprisings.

Chairman Giang expressed deep gratitude to revolutionary veterans, martyrs' families, and national contributors.

He emphasized the province’s remarkable development: Quảng Ngãi now ranks 4th among 14 provinces in the North Central and Central Coastal regions in terms of economic scale and 12th nationwide in state budget revenue.

He affirmed that the Ba Gia Victory remains a source of pride and inspiration for the province's continued development.

On behalf of provincial leadership, he called on all Party members, officials, and citizens to uphold their patriotic spirit and unity, effectively implement Party resolutions, ensure political security and social order, and work together to fulfill the goals of the 20th Provincial Party Congress and prepare for the 14th National Party Congress.
