Deputy Prime Minister Mai Văn Chính has issued guidance on the proposal to develop Lý Sơn Island District into a central marine tourism destination by 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee has been tasked with consulting the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the Ministry of Construction on the draft plan.
Based on their feedback, the province is to finalize and approve the plan within its authority and take full legal responsibility for its content.
The plan must align with the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Planning for 2021–2030, vision to 2050 (Decision No. 1456/QD-TTg dated November 22, 2023), and be consistent with national and sectoral plans related to Lý Sơn Island.
Quảng Ngãi will lead the coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other relevant agencies to build and implement the project as per legal regulations.
The implementation must ensure transparency, efficiency, and prevent losses or misconduct, with particular attention to national defense, security, marine resource and environmental protection, and sustainable development.
Any issues beyond provincial authority must be reported to higher levels promptly.
