Recently, the Flemish Development Cooperation and Technical Assistance Organization, Kingdom of Belgium (VVOB) in Vietnam held a workshop to conclude the 1.5-year extension phase of the project “Integrating Learning Through Play in Primary Education in Vietnam” (iPLAY) in the period of 2024-July 2025.
The event brought together representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Departments of Education and Training of eight participating provinces and cities, the Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences, universities of education, and other educational organisations in Vietnam.
iPLAY has supported the education sector since 2020 and the project promoting the Learning through Play (LtP) approach in primary classrooms to help teachers transition into the new general education curriculum. During the recent extension phase (2/2024–7/2025), over 2,000 education officials and teachers received training and support to further deepen their understanding and more effectively apply LtP in their teaching practice.
At the meeting, VVOB Vietnam hopes that education officials, teachers and partners nationwide will continue to scale up and sustain the LtP approach after the project ends, working toward positive, creative classrooms that nurture lifelong learning.
In Quảng Ngãi province, the Project “iPLAY Vietnam - Integrating Learning through Play activities for primary school students”, sponsored by VVOB Vietnam, has been implemented in the province in two periods of 2020-2023 and 2024 - July 2025, with the total aid capital of VND 1.5 billion.
The project implemented a roadmap for professional training, improving the capacity of teachers in applying methods and techniques of learning through play, while supporting teachers in teaching activities; created conditions for teachers to exploit and use the iPLAY project's resources on the database system of the Ministry of Education and Training.
