On January 22, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien inspected the supply of consumer goods for the Lunar New Year 2025, which falls on January 29, at Co.opmart Quang Ngai Supermarket and GO! Quang Ngai Supermarket.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, businesses in the province had signed up to supply essential goods and foods at fixed prices under the annual price stabilisation programme.
Supermarkets and convenience stores are increasing manpower and extending operating hours to better serve customers during the peak shopping season.
At Co.opmart Quang Ngai Supermarket and GO! Quang Ngai Supermarket, essential goods have been stockpiled, ensuring abundant supply and at stable prices before, during and after Tết.
Representatives of these units said that, the number of customers shopping at their stores has increased by 30 per cent compared to the same period last year, and adding that online sales have also surged sharply.

Through inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien highly appreciated the supermarkets in ensuring a diverse and abundant supply of goods to meet people's shopping needs during Tet holidays.
Hien urged these businesses to balance supply and demand of goods on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025, avoiding shortages of goods or sudden price increases.
It is necessary to strengthen quality control, ensure food hygiene and safety, and create a safe and convenient shopping environment for people, Hien added.
The PPC’s Vice Chairman also requested functional agencies to strengthen inspection and supervision, promptly detect and strictly handle acts of commercial fraud, trading of counterfeit and poor-quality goods to protect consumers' rights.
