QUẢNG NGÃI — More than 2,200 cherry blossom trees will be planted in Măng Đen Commune.
The activities aimed to build the “Green Sprouts for Măng Đen” Fund, contributing to greening efforts and enhancing the tourism landscape of the highland area.
A highlight of the fundraising campaign was the Quảng Ngãi Open Pickleball Tournament, held on January 3ʳᵈ–4ᵗʰ under the theme “Play sports – sow green seeds – shape the future.”
The tournament attracted 42 athletes, including local residents, tourists, professional players, managers, and representatives of businesses and travel agencies.
Through competitions in open, community and exchange categories, from group stages to quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, the tournament raised VNĐ125 million, equivalent to 1,250 cherry blossom trees.
The contribution is expected to help green the landscape and create distinctive tourism products for the Măng Đen plateau.
In addition, the Inter-level School of International Education City – IEC Quảng Ngãi, under the IEC International Education Complex, donated VNĐ100 million to the fund to plant 1,000 cherry blossom trees in Măng Đen Commune.
Launched by the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee in 2025, the “Green Sprouts for Măng Đen” Fund mobilises donations from cultural, sports and tourism activities across the province.
The fund is used to purchase seedlings for afforestation, expand green spaces and promote sustainable tourism linked with environmental protection.
On this occasion, the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded certificates of merit to IEC Quảng Ngãi and other collectives and individuals for their outstanding contributions to the success of the Măng Đen Culture–Tourism Week 2026.
