Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền chaired a meeting on September 15 to review the situation and discuss measures to address delayed projects.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, Quảng Ngãi currently has 33 established industrial clusters covering more than 888.9 hectares. Of these, 23 are operational, while eight have been established and partially developed with technical infrastructure but have yet to become operational.
Two other industrial clusters, invested in by enterprises, are currently undergoing site clearance and infrastructure construction and are expected to become operational in 2028.
The average occupancy rate at operating industrial clusters is about 70 per cent. Their infrastructure has gradually been improved, providing serviced land for industrial and handicraft production and attracting projects in agro-forestry-fishery processing, mechanical manufacturing, handicrafts, consumer goods and other sectors suited to local potential.
To date, the industrial clusters have attracted nearly 140 projects and more than 380 production and business establishments, creating jobs for around 6,000 workers.
They have also contributed to local socio-economic development, promoted the use of locally sourced raw materials and generated revenue for the State budget .

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền asked relevant departments to work with local authorities to comprehensively review the operations of enterprises in the industrial clusters.
The Department of Industry and Trade was asked to assess and classify operating industrial clusters.
For clusters operating effectively but lacking infrastructure, the province should consider further investment to complete infrastructure and facilitate compliant business operations.
Local authorities were requested to conduct direct inspections and assess the actual operations of enterprises in their respective industrial clusters.
For the investors of the two industrial clusters currently under development, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền asked them to strengthen project management capacity, closely coordinate with local authorities on compensation and site clearance, and accelerate infrastructure construction in line with approved investment policies so that the clusters can be put into operation as soon as possible.
