On August 28, the Provincial Steering Committee for the Search, Repatriation, and Identification of Martyrs' Remains held a send-off ceremony, assigning tasks to Team K53 for its mission in Laos and Cambodia during the 2026–2027 dry season.

The ceremony was attended by Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee Y Ngọc, and Major General Trần Minh Trọng, Deputy Political Commissar and Head of the Steering Committee of Military Region 5.
For the 2026–2027 dry season, Team K53 under the Provincial Military Command comprises 67 personnel divided into three units. These units will operate across three southern Lao provinces (Champasak, Attapeu, Sekong), Ratanakiri Province in Cambodia, and local areas within the home province.
The unit aims to coordinate closely with authorities and armed forces in neighboring countries to survey, verify information, and exhume remains - targeting the recovery of at least 20 martyrs' remains to support the 500-Day Campaign goals.
In her address, Standing Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc commended the dedication of the Provincial Military Command and Team K53 personnel. She underscored that searching for and repatriating fallen soldiers reflects the nation's profound gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for the country.. She urged team members to maintain highly committed to the mission, ensure absolute safety, strictly comply with local laws, and proactively expand information channels to pinpoint burial sites effectively.
