Quảng Ngãi - Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on June 23 chaired a nationwide online conference to review the first six months of 2025 and assess the outcomes of a recent campaign against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property violations.

At the Quảng Ngãi provincial site, Provincial Party Secretary Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân and Chairman of the People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang co-chaired the session.

Also in attendance were Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

Over the past months, the National Steering Committee 389 has worked closely with the media to raise public awareness and report on law enforcement efforts.

Online sales of fake or low-quality goods are now better monitored.

Authorities have uncovered many large-scale violations involving coal, fuel, fertilizers, frozen food, cosmetics, electronics, tobacco, and more.

Several sophisticated schemes such as the dumping of fake candy in Hà Nội and counterfeit pharmaceuticals in Hồ Chí Minh City and Đà Nẵng were detected.

Between May 15 and June 12, over 3,910 violations were handled, with 170 individuals prosecuted. Seized goods were valued at over  VNĐ 198 billion.

Notably, in just one week (June 6–12), over 2,540 cases were recorded, with goods worth more than VNĐ 123 billion confiscated.

Prime Minister Chính praised the efforts of authorities and called for continued, determined action.

He stressed the need to crack down on fake goods—especially counterfeit medicines and food that harm public health.

He also directed ministries and localities to strengthen laws and policies, step up communication, and ensure persistent, coordinated enforcement. This is a critical, ongoing political task that requires the united effort of the entire political system to protect consumers, maintain market order, and promote sustainable economic development.
