The OCOP program has entered its seventh year, being implemented comprehensively and extensively in all localities.
The OCOP program has positively impacted rural economic development, promoting the transformation of production organization in rural areas towards value chain linkage, and building stable raw material regions.
The program has played a crucial role in creating employment opportunities and fostering sustainable livelihoods in particularly disadvantaged regions.
After 7 years of implementing the OCOP program, so far, Quảng Ngãi province has had 271 OCOP products, including two five-star products and 16 four-star products.
The consumed OCOP products increased by an average of 15 per cent, of which over 50 per cent of products had a higher selling price than the price before these products were awarded certification, reflecting an improvement in quality and value in the market.
Quảng Ngãi strengthens trade promotion activities to introduce OCOP products
According to the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DoAE) Hồ Trọng Phương, although the rate of deep processing is still limited, with investment in technology and standard processes, it is absolutely possible for the province's OCOP products to reach out to the "big sea" with guaranteed quality, meeting food safety standards.
Therefore, the DoAE has instructed relevant agencies and units to focus on supporting businesses in adopting advanced production standards such as VietGAP, GlobalGAP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and others. This not only enhances the competitiveness of the province's OCOP products in the market but also builds trust with consumers regarding the origin and safety of the products.
