QUẢNG NGÃI — The Provincial People’s Committee on December 29 reviewed proposed solutions for digital transformation in the 2026–2030 period and the application of an AI-based virtual assistant for provincial officials and civil servants.

The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền.

Representatives of Viettel Quảng Ngãi presented a proposal comprising six groups of digital transformation solutions for 2026–2030, covering institutions, digital infrastructure, data, platforms and applications, information security, and human resources.

Particularly in 2026, key priorities include issuing the digital government architecture, the provincial digital transformation plan for 2026–2030, and a catalogue of databases; restructuring digital infrastructure through data centre and disaster recovery systems, internal cloud platforms, expanded 5G coverage, and synchronised investment in IT equipment.

Other priorities include developing an AI-based virtual assistant platform to support officials’ work; establishing a shared data repository and launching a data digitisation campaign towards open data; integrating shared platforms and commune-level applications; and training specialised personnel while promoting digital skills across the community.

Regarding the AI virtual assistant for officials, Viettel Quảng Ngãi noted that artificial intelligence has become an essential tool across sectors, including public administration.

In Quảng Ngãi, initial applications could focus on document retrieval by integrating legal and administrative databases from central to local levels, enabling fast access to documents and procedures to improve work efficiency.

AI is also expected to support administrative document drafting by automating workflows, suggesting standard structures and content in line with current regulations, and checking spelling and administrative style, thereby standardising official documents.

In addition, an “AI handbook” function could help users take notes, store, summarise and search personal and professional materials, support report and speech writing, and visualise information through mind maps.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền requested departments, sectors and localities to review and develop phased and annual implementation plans with clear outputs and deliverables, ensuring high practical applicability.

He stressed the need to align closely with central ministries’ orientations and the province’s action programmes, focus on building and integrating sectoral databases, ensure information security, and synchronously invest in infrastructure, equipment and human resources.

For the AI virtual assistant application, he assigned the Department of Science and Technology to take the lead, in coordination with relevant agencies, in preparing conditions for pilot implementation. This initiative reflects the province’s proactive and innovative approach to administrative reform and digital government development, contributing to the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
