On December 4, the Vừ A Dính Scholarship Fund and the “For the beloved Hoàng Sa – Trường Sa” Club, in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training and the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Youth Union, held a ceremony to award scholarships to ethnic minority students, children of fishermen in coastal and island areas, and children of officers and professional soldiers of the Border Guard stationed on Lý Sơn Island.

Attending the ceremony were Trương Mỹ Hoa, former Party Central Committee Secretary and former State Vice President, now Chairwoman of the Vừ A Dính Scholarship Fund and Head of the “For the beloved Hoàng Sa – Trường Sa” Club; Đặng Ngọc Tùng, former member of the Party Central Committee and former President of the Việt Nam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Head of the Club; and Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, Vice Chairman of Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee, along with leaders of relevant departments and localities.

A total of 145 scholarships were awarded, including 90 by the Vừ A Dính Scholarship Fund to ethnic minority students in remote, disadvantaged, and border areas; and 55 by the “For the beloved Hoàng Sa – Trường Sa” Club to children of fishermen and soldiers in coastal communes and Lý Sơn Island. In addition, 20 scholarships were specially dedicated to children of officers and professional soldiers serving at Lý Sơn Border Guard Station.

Speaking at the event, Trương Mỹ Hoa expressed her joy at returning to Quảng Ngãi and directly presenting meaningful scholarships to disadvantaged students. She praised their resilience and determination, affirming that the Fund and the Club always pay special attention to young generations in hardship areas, especially those at the nation’s frontlines.

Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, on behalf of provincial leaders, extended his thanks to Trương Mỹ Hoa, the Fund, and the Club for their care and practical support. He emphasized that these scholarships are not only material assistance but also a great source of encouragement, helping students gain confidence in their studies and future.
Since its establishment in 1999, the Vừ A Dính Scholarship Fund has awarded over 130,000 scholarships to ethnic minority students nationwide. Meanwhile, the “For the beloved Hoàng Sa – Trường Sa” Club has granted more than 3,000 scholarships to children of fishermen and officers of the Navy, Fisheries Surveillance, Coast Guard, and Border Guard forces who safeguard the nation’s sovereignty at sea.
