Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Y Ngọc, on January 10, inspected the progress of projects to build inter-level boarding schools in four border communes: Rờ Kơi, Mô Rai, Sa Loong, and Dục Nông.
During the inspection, the Standing Vice Chairwoman reviewed the implementation of each project component. In Phase 1, the province is investing in four inter-level boarding schools, including two newly built schools (in Mô Rai and Dục Nông) and two schools undergoing renovation, upgrading, and partial new construction (in Rờ Kơi and Sa Loong).
According to the Project Management Board, the total allocated capital for 2025 is approximately VNĐ 117 billion, with a 100 per cent disbursement rate to date. Contractors are mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment to accelerate construction.
At Rờ Kơi Commune, renovation and upgrading works are being implemented under a design-and-build model, with a duration of 215 days (from December 29, 2025 to July 31, 2026).
In Mô Rai Commune, the new school has completed about 40 per cent of site leveling.
In Dục Nông Commune, site preparation and foundation positioning have reached about 40 per cent.
Sa Loong Commune recorded the fastest progress, with site leveling reaching approximately 70 per cent.
After the inspection, Standing Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc emphasized that the construction of inter-level boarding schools in border areas is a key and urgent political task, contributing to education for students in disadvantaged areas, population stabilization, socio-economic development, and national border security.
She requested relevant units to ensure compliance with regulations, construction quality, and progress; strengthen coordination to resolve difficulties promptly; ensure absolute safety; and organize round-the-clock construction, including during the Lunar New Year, to complete the projects by July 31, 2026.
These four schools are expected to serve as pilot models for future expansion in border communes, contributing to sustainable development in the border region.
