
QUẢNG NGÃI — The Phạm Văn Đồng University (PDU) on Thursday morning announced the establishment of its Centre for National Defence and Security Education, with the attendance of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng.
Reportedly, on May 9, 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision No. 1266/QĐ-BGDĐT to establish the Centre under the PDU.
Dr. Trần Đình Thám, the university’s rector, has been appointed Director of the Centre.
Also at the event, the Centre for Education Accreditation under the University of Đà Nẵng announced its decision and awarded quality-accreditation certificates for the university’s undergraduate programme in Literature Education and its college-level Early Childhood Education programme.

PDU also marked the 43ᵗʰ Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2025) and welcomed its 2025 cohort of freshmen.
The university received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee for outstanding achievements in emulation movements.
Founded 18 years ago on the basis of merging Quảng Ngãi Teacher Training College and Quảng Ngãi Community College, PDU has so far trained tens of thousands of engineers, bachelor’s degree holders, and teachers.
In the 2025–2026 academic year, the university admitted nearly 1,000 new students, many of whom achieved high entrance scores.
The institution currently has one associate professor, 34 PhDs, 123 master’s degree holders, and 15 lecturers pursuing doctoral studies domestically and abroad.

The university continues to expand its enrolment areas to more provinces and municipalities, develop new academic programmes to meet learners’ and social needs, and strengthen educational quality accreditation efforts.
