Provincial Leaders attend the 80th Anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment Sector

The Department of Agriculture and Environment, on 21 November, held a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the sector (14/11/1945 - 14/11/2025).

Attending the event were Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Thế Hải; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Đỗ Tâm Hiển; former provincial leaders; and officials and staff of the sector over generations.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 80-year development journey of the Agriculture and Environment sector, which has always played a vital role in national economic development and sustainable growth.

In Quảng Ngãi, the sector has made strong strides in resource management, environmental protection, farming, livestock production, forestry and fisheries, gradually forming concentrated production zones and applying high technology toward ecological, organic and circular agriculture.

Infrastructure for irrigation and rural clean water has been upgraded. The New Rural Development Program has achieved significant results, improving rural living standards and transforming local landscapes.

The province has also strengthened land, mineral and environmental management through systematic mapping and land certification.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển praised the contributions of the sector and urged continued reform to meet new development requirements. He called for shifting from traditional agricultural production to an innovation-technology based agricultural economy; developing concentrated production areas; promoting ecological, organic and circular models; and expanding processing industries and value chains.

He emphasized strict, transparent management of natural resources; a modern unified database; proactive disaster prevention; and effective implementation of national target programs on poverty reduction and new rural development.

He also highlighted the need to build a responsible, professional, and innovative workforce capable of driving the sector’s sustainable development and contributing to Quảng Ngãi’s goal of becoming a dynamic growth hub of the Central–Central Highlands region by 2030.
