Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm inspects progress of Quảng Ngãi – Hoài Nhơn Expressway Project

On August 2, Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, accompanied by leaders of relevant departments and localities, conducted a field inspection of the site clearance work for the Quảng Ngãi – Hoài Nhơn Expressway project.

According to the Provincial Transportation Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board, despite multiple directives from the Provincial People’s Committee, site clearance remains behind schedule, with unresolved issues at the grassroots level affecting overall construction progress.

Since July 15, of the 15 construction points raised by contractors, only nine have been addressed, leaving six unresolved in the communes of Nghĩa Giang, Đình Cương, and Lân Phong.

At the rest-stop area, contractors have only accessed 6.92 out of 12.12 hectares.

Addressing public concerns over construction impacts, the Provincial Project Management Board has requested Project Management Unit 2 (the project owner) to instruct contractors to coordinate closely with local authorities and relevant agencies to assess damages and resolve arising issues.

The PPC’s Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm emphasized that the Quảng Ngãi – Hoài Nhơn project plays a vital role in the province’s transport infrastructure and regional connectivity strategy. Ensuring the progress and quality of the project is a critical political task that requires the active and responsible involvement of all agencies and units.

He also urged the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to promptly propose specific land prices for the fifth adjustment batch and coordinate with localities to finalize documentation for compensation approval, ensuring on-time handover of cleared land.

He called on departments, agencies, and local governments in the project area to strengthen coordination with contractors to resolve difficulties and bottlenecks effectively, avoiding delays caused by poor cooperation.
