Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm inspects several transport projects in western Quảng Ngãi
QUẢNG NGÃI — Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm inspected several transport projects in western Quảng Ngãi on September 27, urging project owners and contractors to mobilise resources, speed up construction and resolve site clearance bottlenecks.
The inspection covered projects managed by the Western Quảng Ngãi Investment Project Management Board, including the Ia Chim bridge and approach roads, the upgrade and expansion of Provincial Road 671, and the western main road of Kon Tum.
The Ia Chim bridge and approach roads project, connecting the tourist wharf in Ia Chim Commune with Provincial Road 675A in Ya Ly Commune, has a total investment of more than VNĐ169 billion. Construction has reached VNĐ49.2 billion, or 32.03 per cent of the construction contract. Site clearance has been completed and the land handed over to the contractor.
The bridge’s two abutments, one pier and all 16 Super T girders have been completed. The remaining work includes six piers, 16 girders on the M2 abutment side and the bridge’s superstructure.
Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm agreed to extend the project implementation period to September 2027 and allow the 2026 central-budget public investment capital to be carried over for disbursement in 2027.
He asked the project management board to closely supervise contractors and ensure completion within the extended timeframe.
For the Provincial Road 671 upgrade and expansion project, covering the section from Km49+500 to Km52 at the intersection with the Hồ Chí Minh Road, the total investment is nearly VNĐ129 billion.
As of September 24, disbursement had reached VNĐ8.6 billion, or 25 per cent of the 2026 capital plan, while construction progress stood at 39.39 per cent of the contract value.
The project has been affected by fragmented site handovers, obstructing power poles and heavy rain.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directs the acceleration of the upgrading and expansion of Provincial Road 671.
The Chairman asked the project management board to accelerate construction on cleared sections and work with Đăk Bla Ward authorities to engage with households and facilitate compensation and site handover.
The western main road of Kon Tum City project, with a total investment of VNĐ1.4926 trillion, has received nearly VNĐ330 billion in public investment capital for 2026.
By September 20, disbursement had reached VNĐ81.5 billion. Compensation and site clearance remain major challenges, with 63.7 per cent of the route handed over.
Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm urged the project management board to strengthen on-site supervision, mobilise sufficient personnel and equipment, and ensure construction quality.
He also called on Ia Chim and Đăk Rơ Wa communes to expedite land-origin verification and work with residents to complete site handover.
During the visit, he also reviewed compensation and site clearance for an urban improvement and land development project associated with a planned eco-tourism and resort area, as well as a project to clear land for military facilities of Division 10.
