On May 6, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trần Hoàng Tuấn chaired a meeting with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the implementation of the sector's tasks in the first quarter of 2025 and the deployment of key tasks in the second quarter of 2025.
In the first quarter of 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism carried out professional tasks and achieved positive results.
The Department organized activities to celebrate the Tet 2025 and commemorate the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 80th anniversary of the Ba To Uprising, and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Ngai province.
In addition, events such as Quang Ngai Tourism Week and Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 have been successfully organized.
The Department organized provincial sports tournaments and actively prepared athletes to participate in regional and national sports festivals.
In the first 4 months of the year, the province welcomed 637,000 visitors, up 49 per cent over the same period last year and reaching 34 per cent of the yearly plan.
Tourism promotion and advertising activities such as the Tourism Promotion Conference 2025 in Quang Nam province and events linking six provinces in the Central and Central Highlands regions were strongly implemented.
The leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also reported on the limitations of the sector relating to the disbursement progress of some public investment projects, the socialization in the field of culture, sports, and tourism, and tourism infrastructure.
Concluding the meeting, the PPC’s Vice Chairman Trần Hoàng Tuấn acknowledged the achievements of the sector in the first quarter. At the same time, Tuấn requested the Department to continue to promote the achieved results and coordinate with other departments, sectors, and localities to effectively implement tasks in the second quarter of 2025, focusing on administrative reform, digital transformation, socialization of cultural and sports activities and improving the quality of tourism services.

Tuấn requested the staff, civil servants, and public employees of the Department to promote their sense of responsibility, perform well their assigned tasks, and advise on sustainable development strategies in the fields of culture, sports, tourism, and communications.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that 2025 is the year of many important events. He thereforerequired that propaganda and celebration activities be organized practically and effectively.
