On the afternoon of October 29, Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền inspected flood prevention and control efforts at the Southern Trà Khúc Riverbank anti-erosion and landscape improvement project (Nghĩa Lộ Ward) and the Bàu Sắt Bridge area (Trương Quang Trọng Ward).
At the Southern Trà Khúc Riverbank project, as river levels have risen above alert level 3, local authorities and contractors have mobilized personnel and equipment to reinforce embankments and clear drainage outlets to prevent flooding and erosion risks.
Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền requested contractors to coordinate closely with local authorities to promptly implement both immediate and long-term solutions, ensuring the urban drainage system functions effectively and supports flood prevention efforts in residential areas during urban development and upgrading.
Inspecting the Bàu Sắt Bridge area, Vice Chairman Hiền commended the proactive measures taken by local authorities to clear water flow and prevent flooding in riverside residential zones.
Vice Chairman Hiền urged local Party committees and authorities to intensify public communication, persuading people to immediately evacuate from dangerous zones and strictly follow disaster prevention regulations, emphasizing that human safety must come first.
