Quảng Ngãi, May 27 - Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, met with key leaders of the Authority of Dung Quất Economic Zone and Industrial Parks (the Authority) and localities about key provincial project progresses and priorities for the coming period.
Reportedly, public investment disbursement has so far reached 16.9 per cent of the annual plan, up 2.7 per cent from April 30.
Specifically, the Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Board reached 12.5 per cent, the Civil and Industrial Construction Project Management Boardreached 16.3 per cent, and localities averaged 20.8 per cent.
Regarding the province’s program to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, 5,580 out of 6,543 targeted houses have been addressed by May 21—equivalent to 85.28 per cent. Of these, 3,460 houses have been completed, and 2,120 others are under construction.
Four districts (Ba Tơ, Sơn Tây, Minh Long, and Đức Phổ Town) have achieved 100 per cent completion ahead of schedule.
Other districts also reported high completion rates, including Tư Nghĩa (99.32 per cent), Sơn Hà (97.34 per cent), Nghĩa Hành (92.16 per cent), and Sơn Tịnh (98.10 per cent).
The Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Board has finalized the feasibility study report for the Trà Khúc 1 Bridge project, which is now under review by the Ministry of Construction.
The goal is to commence construction before October 15, 2025.
At the meeting, various project manangement boards and localities also reported on ongoing challenges and proposed solutions for upcoming tasks.
Chairman Giang praised the proactive efforts and positive progress made in May, but emphasized that some key tasks remain behind expectations.
He urged departments and localities to take more decisive actions, particularly in accelerating the implementation of major socio-economic projects, boosting public investment disbursement, completing the housing program, and increasing land-use fee collection.
He also directed agencies to review and resolve obstacles, especially in site clearance and compensation.
Localities were reminded to strictly follow central and provincial guidelines when transferring functions from district to commune level, ensuring smooth operations post-merger without disruption to public services or local business and community activities.
