On April 16, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trần Phước Hiền, who is also the Head of Task Force 1252—responsible for supporting and accelerating the implementation of large-scale, high-impact non-budget investment projects in the province—chaired a meeting to address proposals from Hòa Phát Dung Quất Steel Joint Stock Company.
According to the company's report, it is currently facing several challenges related to site clearance, compensation, resettlement, and the handling of excess materials during the implementation of the key project: Hòa Phát Dung Quất 2 Integrated Steel Production Complex.
At the meeting, company representatives requested the provincial authorities to approve adjustments to the Binh Son District Land Use Plan until 2030.
They also urged for early submission of the Tri Binh – Dung Quat railway line to the competent authorities for inclusion in the 2025–2030 medium-term public investment plan, enabling timely funding allocation to support national key projects.
Additionally, the company sought the province's support in resolving issues concerning site clearance, resettlement, and approval of the environmental plan for temporary material storage areas proposed by the company.
The company also proposed that the province address issues related to the allocation of a specialized port area within the Hòa Phát Dung Quất Steel Complex, and approve the designated marine area for material immersion as part of the Hòa Phát Dung Quất General Cargo and Container Port Project.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trần Phước Hiền emphasized that Hòa Phát Dung Quất’s high-quality steel production projects are of significant importance and urgency, serving national key projects as directed by the Government.
He affirmed the province’s determination to promptly address any arising issues to facilitate the smooth and timely implementation of these critical projects.
Based on the discussions and inputs from departments, agencies, local authorities, and members of Task Force 1252, the Vice Chairman instructed relevant departments and localities to focus on thoroughly resolving the company’s proposals in accordance with legal regulations.
He also requested that each issue be addressed with clearly defined timelines, and that the outcomes be promptly reported to the Provincial People's Committee.
