QUẢNG NGÃI— The Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, on Thursday held a working session with local authorities from Bình Sơn, Vạn Tường, Đông Sơn, Bình Minh and Bình Chương communes to review socio-economic development, national defense and security.
Local leaders reported progress in administration reform, public services, fisheries, tourism, education and healthcare after the consolidation of commune-level governments.
They highlighted challenges in staffing and infrastructure, but said reforms in digital governance and social welfare had been maintained effectively.
Giang commended the communes’ efforts; however, he urged stronger measures to accelerate economic growth, speed up land clearance and disbursement of public investment, and strictly manage natural resources and construction.
He emphasized the principle of accountability and efficiency, calling for improved tax collection, faster project delivery, and enhanced digital transformation.
Local officials requested additional funding for administrative service centers and broadcasting infrastructure, more technical staff in land, agriculture and IT, and further training for commune-level cadres.
Giang directed authorities to ensure timely social welfare policies, promote community-based tourism, implement national target programs, and safeguard political stability and social order.
