The Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee has issued Official Telegram No. 05/CĐ-UBND calling for urgent measures to respond to Storm No. 12 and heavy rainfall that could cause flooding, landslides, and flash floods.
According to the Quảng Ngãi Hydro-meteorological Station, from October 20–26, 2025, the province will experience widespread, prolonged heavy rainfall, especially in eastern areas. This poses high risks of landslides, flash floods in mountainous regions, and flooding in low-lying areas, with river levels on Trà Bồng, Vệ, Trà Câu, and Phước Giang possibly exceeding Alert Level 3.
The PPC’s Chairman urged all agencies and localities to implement response plans under the principle of “no loss of life and minimal property damage.” He directed strict monitoring of fishing vessels, aquaculture cages, and tourism activities, especially around Lý Sơn, requiring all boats to seek safe shelter before 3:00 p.m. on October 21.
Local forces are instructed to ensure safety at schools, roads, and reservoirs; prepare for potential evacuation in high-risk zones; and strictly prohibit ferries and fishing during storms and floods.
The Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Police are ordered to be on full alert, ready to support disaster response efforts. Meanwhile, industrial zones, including Dung Quất Oil Refinery, Hòa Phát Steel, and VSIP, must reinforce safety measures for workers and infrastructure.
The Provincial Steering Committee for Civil Defense and the Department of Agriculture and Environment will closely monitor the situation and advise the Provincial People’s Committee on timely response actions.
