The 1ˢᵗ Provincial Congress of the Quảng Ngãi Farmers’ Association for the 2025–2030 term opened on December 19 at the Provincial Labour Cultural House under the theme “Solidarity – Democracy – Innovation – Cooperation – Development.”
The congress was attended by Vice Chairman of the Việt Nam Farmers’ Union Phạm Tiến Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Đinh Thị Hồng Minh, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngọc, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee Y Thị Bích Thọ, representatives of provincial departments and agencies, and 300 delegates representing nearly 215,000 farmers and association members across the province.
During the previous term, the Farmers’ Association at all levels renewed its leadership and operating methods, closely following Party guidelines and higher-level directives and translating them into practical programmes and plans.
These efforts contributed significantly to agricultural development, the rural economy and the new-style rural development programme in Quảng Ngãi.
The association strengthened political and ideological education, reaching more than 705,000 members through diverse and flexible formats, with increased focus on agricultural digital transformation and policies related to farmers and rural areas.
Membership grew by 14,626, bringing the total to 214,427 members.
Training and refresher courses were organised for 13,630 association officials, while 1,671 grassroots chapters established and maintained operational funds.
Professional farmers’ groups continued to expand, with 635 professional teams and 147 professional chapters established.
Member management became more systematic, with 58,587 members installing the Farmers’ Digital Platform application.
Farmers also actively contributed to national target programmes.
For the 2025–2030 term, the congress set key targets, including establishing 300 new professional farmers’ teams and 96 professional chapters, and maintaining annual registration of at least 60 per cent of farming households for the outstanding production and business title.

Addressing the congress, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Đinh Thị Hồng Minh praised the achievements of the Farmers’ Association and the farmers’ movement.
She stressed the need for continued renewal of content and operating methods, stronger digital transformation in member management and support activities, closer cooperation with businesses and scientists, and reinforcement of new-style agricultural cooperatives.
She reaffirmed the principle that farmers are the central actors in agricultural and rural development.
With a high level of consensus, the congress announced the appointment of the 1ˢᵗ Executive Committee of the Quảng Ngãi Farmers’ Association, comprising 63 members, and an 11-member Standing Board.
Nguyễn Quang Thuỷ, a member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, was appointed Chairman of the Provincial Farmers’ Association for the 2025–2030 term.
The congress also selected 15 official and two alternate delegates to attend the 9ᵗʰ National Congress of the Việt Nam Farmers’ Union.
