Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm visits and presents gifts to children at the Kon Tum Social Work Center.
QUẢNG NGÃI — Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm visited and presented Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children at the Kon Tum Social Work Centre on September 24.
The visit took place on the occasion of the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival. The Chairman was accompanied by leaders of relevant provincial departments and agencies.
The centre is currently providing care and support for 168 social protection beneficiaries, including 140 children, 68 of whom are orphans, and 28 elderly people living without family support. A team of 36 staff members is responsible for their care and daily needs.
For the Mid-Autumn Festival, the centre has organised activities for the children, including cultural performances, recreational activities, a traditional Mid-Autumn feast and health check-ups. The centre has also received gifts from agencies, organisations, businesses and benefactors.
During his visit, Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm recognised the efforts of the centre’s staff in caring for and supporting social protection beneficiaries. He encouraged the staff to continue carrying out their work with a strong sense of responsibility and dedication, particularly in caring for the children.
He stressed that children are the future of the country and that proper care and support provide an important foundation for their development. Quảng Ngãi continues to pay particular attention to social protection, healthcare and the care of women and children, while creating favourable conditions for the centre to fulfil its responsibilities.
Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm also encouraged the centre’s teachers and caregivers to provide affection, guidance and a supportive environment for the children, helping them develop comprehensively and become confident members of the community.
He urged the children to work hard in their studies and personal development, overcome difficulties and strive to become useful members of society.
On the occasion, Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm presented gifts from Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên to the children at the centre. He also inspected the centre’s facilities, accommodation, study areas and kitchen, and visited elderly people receiving care there.
