Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngọc on November 3 inspected post-flood recovery efforts in Ngọc Linh Commune and worked with local authorities to assess damage and direct timely response measures.
During the field visit, Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc surveyed several severely eroded sites, particularly areas where traffic routes to five northern villages of the commune remain cut off.
She also inspected the construction of temporary roads and bridges aimed at restoring connectivity to isolated areas.
The Vice Chairwoman encouraged local residents affected by the floods and requested that the commune authorities and relevant agencies mobilise all available resources and equipment to repair landslides, reopen traffic routes, and help people resume production and stabilise their livelihoods.
She also called for a review of damaged infrastructure to identify priority items for financial support under existing regulations.
Y Ngọc praised the dedication of officers and soldiers who have been working around the clock to clear roads and assist residents.
She presented gifts to frontline forces and expressed her appreciation for their efforts in supporting local communities.
At a working session with Ngọc Linh Commune leaders, the Vice Chairwoman was briefed on the extent of damage caused by recent storms and floods, which heavily affected inter-communal and inter-village roads, irrigation works, and water supply systems.
She commended the proactive and coordinated response of local authorities and armed forces, including Division 34, in overcoming the immediate challenges.
She urged the commune to continue close coordination with relevant agencies to ensure rapid recovery, protect people’s safety, and restore normal life as soon as possible.
On this occasion, Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc presented gifts to the Party Committee, People’s Committee of Ngọc Linh Commune, and representatives of the forces participating in disaster recovery efforts.
