At 7:00 AM on May 25, the State Funeral for former Politburo member and President of Vietnam Trần Đức Lương was solemnly held at the National Funeral Hall, No. 5 Trần Thánh Tông, Hà Nội.
Simultaneous ceremonies took place at the Thống Nhất Hall in Hồ Chí Minh City and Hall T50 in Quảng Ngãi City.
President Lương Cường delivered the eulogy
In a solemn atmosphere, President Lương Cường delivered the eulogy, emphasizing that Comrade Trần Đức Lương was a prominent leader who made significant contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

President Lương Cường stressed that former President Trần Đức Lương was a key leader of the Party and State, known for his integrity, sense of responsibility, and democratic leadership style.
He always prioritized the interests of the Party and the nation, living a modest and exemplary life that earned the admiration of comrades, citizens, and international friends.
With over 88 years of life, 65 years of Party membership, and more than 50 years of revolutionary service, former President Trần Đức Lương made tireless efforts for the Party, the nation, and the people.
He held various important positions and consistently fulfilled his duties with excellence.
In recognition of his immense contributions, the Party and State awarded him the Gold Star Order, the 65-Year Party Membership Badge, and numerous other prestigious medals and honors from both domestic and international institutions.
During the tribute, attendees observed a minute of silence to honor his passing.
In deep respect, they bid farewell to the beloved and trusted leader who embodied the spirit and virtues of a true Communist.
Following the ceremony, the hearse carrying former President Trần Đức Lương’s casket passed through several streets of Hà Nội en route to Nội Bài Airport, then continued to his hometown in Phổ Khánh Commune, Đức Phổ Town, Quảng Ngãi Province.
The burial took place at 3:00 PM the same day.
