On March 21, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Son District held a solemn ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the district's Liberation Day (March 25, 1975 - March 25, 2025).
Provincial leaders and delegates attended the ceremony, including Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Cao Phuc, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Luong Kim Son, leaders of Military Region 5, and district leaders from all periods, along with leaders of various departments and localities.
During the event, Chairman of the Binh Son District People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Tran delivered a speech that reviewed the district's historical struggle for liberation and its development over the past 50 years.
He highlighted the impressive achievements made during the resistance against American imperialism, including notable battles such as the defense against enemy sweeps in Binh Dong, the historic battle of Van Tuong, and the battles in Truong Ba Go.
These efforts culminated in the successful liberation of Binh Son District on March 25, 1975, contributing to the broader liberation of Quang Ngai Province and the unification of the country on April 30, 1975.
In terms of development, Binh Son District has made significant strides in various fields.
The district's infrastructure has been systematically upgraded, and its economy and society have shown remarkable growth.
Currently, all 21 communes in the district meet new rural standards, with three communes achieving advanced new rural standards.
The material and spiritual lives of the residents have seen consistent improvement.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman Nguyen Hoang Giang emphasized Binh Son District's rich history and revolutionary tradition.
He acknowledged the bravery of the district's military and civilian population in their fight for independence and freedom.
After 50 years of liberation, the Party Committee, government, military, and residents of Binh Son District have focused on overcoming the consequences of war and building a prosperous homeland.
Chairman Giang commended the comprehensive achievements of the district over the past five decades.
He also urged the Party Committee, government, military, and people of the district to implement the goals and objectives outlined in the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress and the District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.
He called for support for businesses to address challenges and promote productivity, the preservation and promotion of the traditional cultural identity of local ethnic groups, and an emphasis on improving the quality of education.
He also encouraged the effective exploitation of local resources for tourism and services, the reorganization of administrative structures, and the enhancement of human resources within the district's political system.
At the ceremony, Chairman Giang presented a Certificate of Merit to the Party Committee, government, and residents of Binh Son District in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the construction and development of the district on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Binh Son District Liberation Day.
