Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền has signed Official Dispatch No. 1195/UBND-NNMT, directing the Department of Agriculture and Environment, as well as commune, ward, and special zone authorities, to implement the “Month of Comprehensive Environmental Cleaning, Disinfection, and Urgent Livestock Vaccination – Round 2/2025” from August 12 to September 12, 2025.
Localities are tasked with organizing cleaning and disinfection in livestock areas, animal markets, collection points, slaughterhouses, and disease disposal sites, in accordance with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment guidelines.
Farmers are encouraged to clean facilities, apply lime powder, and use disinfectants, with local governments supplementing chemicals beyond provincial support.
The directive calls for urgent approval and implementation of disease prevention plans for the last six months of 2025, ensuring at least 80 per cent of livestock are fully vaccinated against major diseases, including avian influenza, foot-and-mouth disease, African swine fever, blue ear disease, lumpy skin disease, and rabies.
Vaccination must cover high-risk areas and include booster shots where immunity has expired.
Authorities must closely monitor animal disease outbreaks, respond quickly to new cases, and prevent large-scale spread.
Special attention is required for localities with ongoing African swine fever or foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks, mobilizing all resources to contain and eliminate the diseases.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment will lead vaccine and chemical procurement, coordinate with localities for timely distribution, and inspect vaccination and disinfection work to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Results will be compiled and reported to the Provincial People’s Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
